How to Spot a Fake IGET Vape in Australia
Fakes follow every popular brand. Six checks that take under a minute and tell you whether what arrived is genuine.
Why counterfeits exist at all
Counterfeiting follows demand. IGET sells well enough in Australia that copying the packaging is worth someone's time, and the copies have improved considerably. The good news is that faking a device convincingly is harder than faking a box, so most fakes fall down on the same handful of details.
1. The scratch-off security code
Genuine IGET packaging carries a scratch-off panel covering a unique verification code, which you check against IGET's own verification page. This is the single most reliable test. Do it before you use the device, not after.
Two things to watch: a panel that has already been scratched off is a red flag, and a code that reports as "already checked" usually means it has been cloned onto multiple boxes.
2. Print quality
Genuine packaging is printed sharply. Look closely at small text and the edges of the logo. Counterfeits are frequently scanned from a real box and reprinted, which softens fine detail, introduces slight colour shifts and can leave a faint dot pattern in solid areas.
3. Weight and build
A genuine device has a specified weight because it holds a specified amount of e-liquid and a particular battery. Fakes are often noticeably lighter. Panel gaps should be even, the mouthpiece should sit flush without rocking, and nothing should rattle when you shake it.
4. The draw itself
Genuine IGET devices are draw-activated with a consistent resistance. If the draw feels unusually loose or unusually tight, if it takes a hard pull to trigger, or if the flavour is thin and harsh from the very first puff rather than after the liquid runs low, be suspicious.
5. Flavour names that do not exist
Counterfeiters invent flavours, or apply real flavour names to the wrong device family. If you cannot find that flavour listed for that device anywhere legitimate, that is worth pausing over. Our full product list shows which flavours exist in which range.
6. Price that makes no sense
Wholesale pricing is real and per-unit costs genuinely drop with volume — that is what our wholesale page is for. But there is a floor. A single device priced far below every legitimate seller is not a bargain, it is a signal.
