Why Is My IGET Vape Not Working? Common Problems Fixed

Most IGET problems come down to five causes. Work through them in order before assuming the device is dead.

No vapour at all

Start with the obvious: is it charged? On rechargeable devices a completely flat battery produces nothing at all, and some models give no indication until they have taken a little charge. Plug it in for ten minutes before concluding anything.

On sealed disposables, check the mouthpiece for a sticker or plug left in place from packaging. It happens more often than you would think.

The light blinks and nothing happens

A blinking indicator is usually one of three things. Most commonly it is the low-battery signal. On a rechargeable device, charge it. On a sealed disposable, it means the device is finished.

Rapid blinking on a device with charge often indicates a short-circuit protection trip, which can follow a hard knock or moisture in the airway. Leave it upright and unused for a few hours and try again.

Blinking while you inhale can also mean you are drawing too hard. Counter-intuitively, a gentler, longer draw frequently fixes it.

Burnt or harsh taste

A burnt taste almost always means the wick is dry — the coil is heating cotton rather than e-liquid. If the device is near the end of its rated life, that is simply it finishing.

If it happens early, the usual cause is chain vaping. Taking many puffs in quick succession does not give the wick time to re-saturate. Wait thirty seconds between draws and see whether the flavour recovers. On a pod device, a burnt taste from a fresh pod usually means the pod needs a few minutes seated in the battery before first use.

Leaking

Small amounts of condensation in the mouthpiece are normal, especially in a warm car or pocket. Actual leaking usually follows heat, pressure changes such as flying, or the device being stored on its side for a long period.

Store devices upright at room temperature and out of direct sun. If a pod leaks persistently from new, that is a fault worth reporting rather than living with.

It worked and then stopped mid-pod

Check the contacts. On pod systems, the connection between the pod and the battery collects lint and condensation. Remove the pod, wipe both sets of contacts with a dry cloth or cotton bud, reseat it firmly and try again. This resolves a surprising proportion of "dead" devices.

The airway is blocked

If the draw is much tighter than it used to be, something is obstructing the airway. Do not poke anything into it. Try a few sharp exhales through the mouthpiece to clear condensation, and check nothing has settled in the intake at the base.

When it is genuinely faulty

If you have charged it, cleaned the contacts, rested it and reseated the pod, and it still does nothing, the device is faulty. Dead-on-arrival and faulty units are replaced free within 30 days — send a photo of the device and the security code panel. Details are on the FAQ page.
